Joe Francis

Piano

A native of Northern California, Joseph Francis moved to Canada with his family after the passing of his father. Joseph developed an interest in music at a young age and began formal piano lessons at 7. He played piano, guitar, and baritone horn throughout high school and studied jazz and classical piano at McGill University in Montreal. After earning a Bachelor of Music, Joseph moved back to the U.S.A. and performed in and around New York City for several years. After receiving an opportunity to move to the San Francisco Bay Area, Joseph became a regular performer in the Bay Area music scene. For a decade, he shared the stage with top musicians including members of Santana, Tower of Power, Huey Lewis, Steve Millar, and Mariah Carey. On Sundays he was a piano accompanist at large, contemporary church services. When not performing, Joseph taught piano to over 100 students over the course of ten years. Joseph brings his real-world music perspective with him to the classroom.
