She then continued her musical pursuits at the Musician's Institute and received her M.A. in Music Education from USC with several major scholarships. She also is a visiting scholar at Stanford University and held the Higher Education Teaching Certificate from Harvard University.

Ms. Shiao has over fifteen years of teaching experience from beginner to advanced piano education. She has been successfully coaching students in many major universities and music conservatories. Ms. Shiao also travels internationally teaching Masterclasses and educational workshops. Being a concert pianist and educator herself since an early age, Ms. Shiao understands the importance of true enjoyment for piano education. Helping and consulting students and their parents are the greatest passions in her musical career.
